Community Health Board
This Community Health Core brings together academic researchers, community-based organizations, the San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency, and people affected by and living with HIV/AIDS (PLHA) to address HIV care and treatment in the San Diego region. The goals of the SD CFAR Community Health Core is to increase access to and retention in HIV care within San Diego County, increase research opportunities through collaborative partnerships, and to develop strategies to increase and retain community members into HIV research studies.
External Stakeholder Panels provide feedback on research relevance, participant input, and study operations from a public-facing perspective, provide policy and procedural guidance by working with members of the community, and to disseminate multiple services for the community of San Diego.
External Advisory Committee
The External Advisory Committee (EAC) of the San Diego CFAR is composed of leading HIV experts from research institutions across the U.S., many based at centers similar to ours. With their expertise in world-class HIV research and knowledge of nationwide research initiatives, EAC members provide valuable guidance on current and future practices and policies.

Community Advisory Board
The Sociobehavioral Science Community Advisory Board (CAB) unites academic researchers, community-based organizations, the San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency, and individuals affected by HIV/AIDS to improve HIV care and treatment in the region. The CAB fosters collaborations, provides policy and procedural guidance, and helps disseminate services to support the local community.
