San Diego Center for AIDS Research Membership

The San Diego Center for AIDS Research (SD CFAR) is a collaborative partnership among four member institutions:

  • San Diego State University
  • Scripps Research
  • The La Jolla Institute for Immunology
  • University of California San Diego, including the San Diego Veterans Affairs Healthcare System and the Veterans Medical Research Foundation

SD CFAR offers membership to faculty, trainees, external stakeholders, and collaborating institutions. We are committed to building meaningful partnerships with individuals working toward the shared goals of advancing HIV research and strengthening our community.

If you would like to join SD CFAR, simply complete our online membership form. There are no dues or fees for membership.

Membership Categories

Full Membership

Full Membership includes:

  • Access to SD CFAR funding opportunities
  • Discounted pricing on Core Services
  • Announcements of upcoming seminars and programs

You are eligible for Full Membership if you:

  • Are faculty at or above the Assistant Professor level (or equivalent) at one of the SD CFAR member institutions
    AND
  • Conduct peer-reviewed HIV research or provide HIV-related patient care and teaching

Trainee Membership

Trainee Membership includes:

  • Access to funding opportunities
  • Discounted pricing on Core Services
  • Announcements of seminars and programs

You are eligible for Trainee Membership if you are:

  • A professor of practice, adjunct professor, postdoctoral fellow, predoctoral fellow, medical student, medical intern, or junior resident at one of the SD CFAR member institutions (LJI, SDSU, Scripps, UC San Diego, or VA/VMRF)
    AND
  • Engaged in HIV-related research, patient care, or teaching

Community Membership

Community Membership is open to all interested individuals, including community members and partners who wish to engage with our research or stay informed about our activities.

Community Members receive:

  • Announcements of upcoming seminars and programs
  • Access to most events, many of which are open to the public
