CFAR Core facilities provide access to equipment and services that are impractical or impossible to maintain in individual laboratories.
The San Diego Center for AIDS Research (SD CFAR) comprises five service areas or cores. Each core serves a unique purpose within the Center and within the HIV/AIDS research community.
Our cores offer services to HIV researchers and other clinicians and scientists at competitive pricing, and many services are offered at no charge.
Finally, our Administrative Core does all the behind-the-scenes work to plan seminars, manage grants, and assist the other cores.
Administration
The mission of the Administrative (Admin) Core is to serve as the central hub for the San Diego Center for AIDS Research (SD CFAR), providing leadership, support, connectivity, vision, and strategic planning to foster ground-breaking HIV research within our Center.
Advanced Technology Core
The Advanced Technology Core (ATC) at SD CFAR aims to accelerate scientific discovery by providing centralized access to cutting-edge instrumentation, expertise, and data analysis, with a strong emphasis on supporting HIV, immunology, and precision medicine research.
Biostatistics and Modeling
The BAM Core provides analytical expertise and aims to establish and foster long-term collaborations between clinical, basic and behavioral researchers and biostatisticians.
Clinical Investigation
The clinical investigation and biostatics core provides the expertise and resources necessary multiple types of researchers.
Developmental Core
